This year I was the coordinator for the Pens of John Paul II. This is a creative writing club designed to introduce students to the art of writing novels and to the modern publishing industry. With a group of nine students, I was involved in two projects: Ware the Milk Rabbit and Crossroads. I had an enjoyable experience working with these young writers, and getting to know them.
The novels we have written and published are being sold in and around John Paul II and its community to raise money to support both this club and our library. To date, we have sold 39 copies, and raised $468 for both our causes. On top of this, the school bought 25 copies of Crossroads to use in the ESL class. I am looking forward to next year when some of my current writers will return and new writers will join our program.
